Description
We are in search of a Fleet Operations Driver to undertake a range of passenger transport functions within Fleet Operations, ensuring adequate provision in line with service requirements and customer needs. To undertake the safe transportation of all passengers, have regard for the general welfare of passengers and to promote their safety.
To ensure compliance with safe practice in respect of all passengers, particularly wheelchair users, to maintain and operate vehicles following policies, procedures and issued Guidance.
Responsibility
To provide support services as directed by the Day Services management when working within the Day Centre, to operate any fleet vehicles as required, particularly in emergency/urgent situations. Operate the nominated communication system as needed, collect fares, passes, issue tickets and account for monies taken in line with NCC policy. Undertake a range of specialist transport functions using the vehicles provided
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Current Driving licence for driving a Minibus D1, D1(101)
- Relevant recent Passenger Vehicle Driving employment experience
- Emergency First Aid Qualification
- Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and smartphone.
Essential - Skills, Abilities, & Experience
- A full endorsement free Driving Licence for driving a Minibus D1, D1(101)
- Experience of driving a minibus with passengers - Minimum of 4 years of driving experience
- Good accident record and competent driver.
- Experience of working with customers and providing a customer-focused experience
- Have expertise in operating the bus tail lifts to help clients in wheelchairs, and have completed Manual Handling training.
- Knowledge of securing a Wheelchair.
- Experience in the transportation of passengers.
- Experience in working to tight schedules.
- Experience working with vulnerable people.
- The ability to confer easily with customers and provide accurate advice in spoken English is essential.
- Able to work Monday to Friday and Saturdays on a rota of one week in four.
- Able to provide a safe environment for customers and staff, and treat all with respect and consideration
Essential Compliance Requirements
- 3 Years of Reference.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
