Overview
We are seeking experienced EHC Coordinators / Health and Care Coordinators to support Hampshire County Council with statutory SEND casework. This fully remote, full-time role is offered on a 3-month rolling contract and will focus on progressing EHCP activity accurately, lawfully and within required timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate EHC needs assessments, annual reviews and wider SEND casework from allocation to completion.
- Prepare clear, accurate and legally compliant EHC plans, ensuring needs, provision and outcomes are clearly defined.
- Manage statutory timescales, including 20-week assessment deadlines, annual reviews and tribunal-related directions.
- Maintain accurate case records, correspondence and documentation using relevant systems.
- Liaise professionally with families, young people, education settings, health, social care and wider partners.
- Manage a busy caseload, prioritise competing demands and escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
- Support tribunal activity, including evidence preparation and responses to directions.
Essential Experience and Skills
Applicants must have recent Local Authority SEND casework experience and confidence managing the full EHCP cycle, including statutory assessments, annual reviews and tribunal-related work.
- Recent experience as an EHC Coordinator, SEND Case Officer or similar within a Local Authority.
- Strong knowledge of EHCP legislation, statutory processes and SEND timescales.
- Experience managing high-volume caseloads, ideally 250+ cases.
- Experience with 20-week assessments, annual reviews and tribunal packs.
- Excellent written communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
